A: Yes, appointments are needed for eye tests and contact lens fittings. However, you’re always welcome to pop in to browse frames or speak to us.
Q: Are you an independent opticians?
A: Yes – we’re proudly independent. That means we’re free to offer a wide range of products, personal service, and honest advice without pressure from big chains or suppliers.
Q: Do you see NHS patients?
A: Yes, we provide NHS-funded eye exams where eligible. We’re also happy to see private patients, and enhanced tests are available for those wanting a more in-depth examination.
Q: Where are you located and is there parking nearby?
A: We’re based in Worksop. There’s convenient parking nearby at Lead Hill, Castle Hill and Queen Street, and we’re easily accessible by foot or public transport.

Q: What’s included in an eye examination?
A: Our exams include a full vision check, prescription check and eye health assessment. If necessary, advanced imaging such as retinal photography or OCT scanning are available for a small fee.
Q: How often should I have an eye test?
A: Most people should have their eyes tested every two years, though we may recommend more frequent visits for certain eye conditions, children, or contact lens wearers.
Q: Do you offer enhanced or advanced eye examinations?
A: Yes. Our enhanced exams include OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) scanning, which allows us to see beneath the surface of the retina and detect early signs of eye disease.
Q: Can children have eye tests at your practice?
A: Absolutely. We offer full children’s eye tests and have experience in making the process comfortable and stress-free for young patients.
Q: What if I’m experiencing eye problems between routine tests?
A: If you’re having symptoms like sudden vision changes, discomfort, or flashes and floaters, contact us straight away. We may be able to help under an NHS-funded urgent eyecare service or arrange an appointment promptly.

Q: Do you offer lenses for specific activities like driving or computer use?
A: Yes. We supply a wide range of lenses tailored to your needs, including lenses for driving, screen use, reading, and general wear.
Q: What lens coatings do you recommend?
A: Anti-reflection coatings are great for clarity and appearance. We also offer UV protection, scratch resistance, water-repellent coatings, and more.
Q: What are varifocal lenses and how do they work?
A: Varifocals allow you to see clearly at all distances—near, intermediate, and far—without the need for separate glasses. They’re ideal for people who need both reading and distance correction.

Q: Do you have children’s and teenagers’ frames?
A: We do. We have a great selection of frames for children and teens, including colourful, durable, and lightweight designs from ranges like Ted Baker, Lacoste, Planet Pop and Eyestuff.
Q: Do you stock sustainable or eco-friendly frames?
A: Yes, we stock eco-conscious ranges such as Bird Eyewear, and Eco Eyewear, which uses sustainable materials and supports environmental projects.
Q: Can my current frames be re-used with new lenses?
A: Often, yes. We’re happy to reglaze existing frames where suitable. Bring them in and we’ll check whether they’re in good condition for re-use.

Q: Do you fit contact lenses?
A: Yes, we fit all types of contact lenses—daily, monthly, toric (for astigmatism), multifocal, and lenses for dry eyes or complex prescriptions.
Q: I’ve never worn contacts before – can I try them?

A: We usually recommend a check-up every 12 months to make sure your eyes remain healthy and your lenses are still suitable.
Q: Can children wear contact lenses?
A: Yes, contact lenses can be suitable for children and teens in many cases. We’ll assess their eyes and guide you through safe use and care.
Q: Do you offer contact lens subscriptions or reordering?
A: Yes. We can set up a contact lens supply plan, or you can order lenses from us as needed. Just get in touch and we’ll arrange everything.
