The Importance of Eye Exams

The eye examination is a full health check for your eyes. It will detect any sight problems (e.g. long or short sightedness) which can be corrected with glasses or contact lenses, as well as detecting more serious eye conditions and health issues.
An examination also looks for indications of general health conditions such as diabetes or hypertension which can also affect the eye.
Having your vision corrected will help you make the most of everyday life, giving you the best vision possible.

Types of Examination

We provide complete and thorough NHS and Private eye examinations, which involves a number of health checks, as well as discovering if a prescription is required.
A thorough examination will last approximately 30 minutes, during which, we look for any visual correction needed and ensure that your eyes remain healthy, and allow us enough time to explain our findings to answer any questions you may have.

We also have some of the latest technology to use during your examination to ensure you have the highest standard of care.

If you are entitled to an NHS Examination, the examinaiton will be free

Your Optometrist may recommend a different interval between tests based on their findings.  You will always be told when you should return for your next sight test and we will let you know when you are due.

If you feel that your vision is changing or your eyes feel uncomfortable, you should seek the advice of your Optometrist or GP straight away.

Contact Lenses

Contact lens examinations are different to eye examinations. An appointment is required for additional tests to evaluate the shape, integrity and health of the eye's surface (Cornea).
The optometrist will then discuss which type of lens will be best for your needs and will evaluate the fit and vision required before supplying a FREE set of trial lenses, to ensure that the contact lenses are the right ones for you.
After this, we will then supply you with contact lenses that are right for you and meet your visual needs.
